Startup Wisconsin Expands to the Chippewa Valley with Startup Eau Claire Week!

In just a few weeks, the Eau Claire community will join forces with Startup Wisconsin Week, the largest entrepreneurship event in the state. The statewide initiative is returning for a second year, with events spanning the week of November 5 -11. This weeklong series of programming aims to increase awareness surrounding the state’s startup business ecosystem, as well as inspire and equip our local community to rally around the transformation taking place in the Chippewa Valley and across the state. Startup Eau Claire Week presented by Royal Credit Union in its inaugural year of participation in the statewide effort.

Startup Eau Claire Week will feature several events focused on connecting, educating, and celebrating entrepreneurs in the community. More than a dozen community partner groups are leading the events and programs that will provide training, skills, and development opportunities for participants. Key local partners for Startup Eau Claire Week include Royal Credit Union, Eau Claire Area Economic Development Corporation, City of Eau Claire Economic Development, Dennis L. Heyde Entrepreneur Program (UW- Eau Claire), Chippewa Valley Technical College Entrepreneurship Program, Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (UW-Eau Claire), Chippewa Valley Developers Group, Startup48, Chippewa Valley Tours, and You Are Here, LLC.

“Startup Eau Claire Week is an exciting opportunity for entrepreneurs in our community to connect, educate, and celebrate!” said Christina Wasson, Project and Marketing Manager of the Eau Claire Area EDC and community organizer of Startup Eau Claire. “Entrepreneurship is critical to Eau Claire’s economy, and Startup Eau Claire Week is a collaborative and unified effort to bring together businesses, organizations, and individuals in the community’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.”

Startup Eau Claire is part of the new “Startup Wisconsin” initiative, which is an effort focused on advancing and developing Wisconsin’s tech and startup ecosystems through unique programming, collaborative partnerships, and networking. The Startup Wisconsin network consists of organizers in 12 cities around the state who will simultaneously participate in Startup Wisconsin Week in November.

“Startup Eau Claire Week provides a platform for entrepreneurs and the key stakeholders to come together, to learn, connect and drive meaningful and powerful change and transformation in the community,” said Matt Cordio, President of Startup Wisconsin. “Innovation and technology are vital to growing Wisconsin’s economy and creating new jobs, the programming occurring during Startup Wisconsin Week this year will continue to develop and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Wisconsin and move the state’s economy forward.”
