Startup 48 – Eau Claire’s weekend-long startup event – will be held October 14-16, 2016 at JAMF Software, right in downtown Eau Claire!
The goal of Startup 48 is to give all attendees the opportunity to experience what it takes to create and maintain a startup by creating one with a team in 48 hours. Last year, in a similar event, Eau Claire had multiple teams of entrepreneurs that worked through the weekend to create a minimal viable product (or MVP). Since the event, all the ideas have moved forward.
“Last year’s event was an eye-opener to how needed this type of event is for the community. Every individual that was at the event continued to work with community partners to further an idea for a startup business.” Luke Hanson, Executive Director of the EDC stated.
Startup 48 is for anyone who is interested in entrepreneurship and wants to meet like-minded individuals in our community. Startup 48 attendees have a wide variety of backgrounds – including developers, coders, designers, marketers, financiers, and business owners. Regardless of your background, everyone from serial entrepreneurs to those who are just curious about startups are encouraged to attend!
“I think it’s awesome that Eau Claire has positioned itself to be startup friendly, offering an opportunity like this to individuals who want to explore the potential of creating the next great app, following in the footsteps of AirBnB, Turo, Uber, or others.” explains Gerald Bauer, owner and founder of JB Systems, and one of the many coaches that assisted teams in last year’s event.
